QUEPOS, COSTA RICA

Costa Rica, Central America, Caribbean coastline in the northeast and the Pacific in the southwest. Jungles and tropical wild life, stunning beaches and a fishing paradise.

Frankfurt, Madrid, London, and Amsterdam offer direct flights from Europe to San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

Our destination will be the coastal town Quepos in the Puntarenas province, about 155 km from San Jose international airport. During the three hour drive from San Jose to Quepos we cross the “crocodile bridge” over the Tarcoles river where during day time you can spot crocodiles of all sizes.

The town of Quepos offers several spectacular beaches, all within easy reach.

You will find plenty of restaurants, shops, bars and grocery stores within immediate city limits.

Taxis and UBER are safe, easy to find and cheap.

Quepos´ off shore waters offer some of the best marlin and sailfish fishing in the world along an abundance of mahi-mahi and tuna. Every year in mid-January the annual PELAGIC Rockstar off shore fishing tournament is held with price monies of over 1.000.000,00 U$ up for grabs.

In shore fishing for a wide array of snappers and especially the powerful rooster fish is highly recommended as well.

Our eight hour fishing runs start with a 06:30 breakfast at the pier of the wonderful Marina Pez Vela in downtown Quepos. Boats leaving around 07:00, for off shore fishing depending on water-, weather- and general conditions initial bait drop zone is around 30 to 45 mins travel time from the shore. In shore fishing initial bait dropping zone is around 20 mins travel time for fishing in proximity to islands, rock formations or coast line.

On return to the marina at around 16:00 happy hour and a spectacular sunset await at the water front marina restaurant terraces. The Marina Pez Vela features several restaurants and stores, a deep sea fishing tackle store and a PELAGIC fishing clothing store included.

Our trips combine in- and off shore fishing, beach time and a visit to the Manuel Antonio national park where with luck you can see Costa Rica wild life as reptiles of all sorts, exotic birds and parrots, monkeys and sloths.
